Council Meetings Resume in Council Chambers

The authority to hold electronic meetings under the COVID Related Measures Act and Ministerial Order M192 expired on September 28, 2021. With this change, Council meetings have resumed in Council Chambers at 499 Muchalat Drive. Based on the occupancy limit of Council Chambers the maximum number of people from the public that can attend the meeting in-person is 18. All attendees must be wearing masks.

Electronic Meetings in the Future

The Community Charter has recently been updated with wording to permit electronic meetings. The Village will be updating the Procedure Bylaw and arranging appropriate equipment to allow electronic meetings within council chambers.

During the time that council meetings were being held electronically, it was observed that there was greater attendance by members of the public. So an additional goal for the Village will be to make sure that the public can hear and observe the meeting proceedings online.
