Maintenance II
Gold River, a quaint coastal village located in central Vancouver Island, is seeking a full-time permanent Maintenance II to join our team. Gold River is an outdoor mecca for adventure at all times of the year with our incredible recreation services. The Village Facilities include an Aquatic Center with 25-meter swimming pool, sauna & hot tub, lazy river with a bubble pool for toddlers. In addition, the Village hosts racquet courts along with a weight room, fitness center and rooms for aerobics and yoga classes complemented with an Arena Complex which contains a community hall and both a curling and ice rinks.
The position reports to the Field Operations Manager. The individual will be responsible for the effective operation of the Aquatic Centre, Arena and all other facilities, as well as assisting in Public Works and with Grounds Maintenance in and around our parks and facilities.
Qualified applicants will have a working knowledge of common facility issues (example: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical), solutions, qualified professionals and technicians to facilitate planning, coordinating, and implementation of repairs and maintenance along with oversight from the Field Operations Manager.
Qualified Applicants will have:
- RFABC Arena Ice Makers Certificate
- RFABC Ice Facility Operator Certificate
- BCRPA 1 & 2 Certificates (or equivalent RFABC Pool Operator levels 1 and 2 Certificates)
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
- Emergency Fist Aid Training
- WHMIS Training
- High School Diploma
The Village may allow other certification that is deemed equivalent.
Applicant will also require a satisfactory Criminal Record check including Vulnerable Persons Check.
This is a C.U.P.E. Local 3399 position with a wage of $31.87, ($33.14-2026) per hour. Job description information can be found at here.
