Notice of Development Variance Permit

The property owner of the hotel located at 390 Nimpkish Drive are wanting to add an accessory building for a Welcome House. The Welcome House is proposed to be operated as a tourist center and Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nation information centre. Under the Zoning Bylaw, accessory buildings are to be to the rear or to the side of the principal building on the lot. In addition, the proposed height of the accessory building exceeds what is permit in the zoning bylaw, the permitted height is 4.6m, and the proposed building will be 5.2m. The Development Variance Permit being applied for will allow the owner to construct an accessory building on the front area of the lot and to exceed the maximum accessory building height.

Notice is hereby given under section 499 of the Local Government Act to residents of the Village of Gold River that this development variance permit will be presented to Council on July 2, 2024. The proposed permit will be available for public inspection at the Municipal office at 499 Muchalat Drive from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday excluding statutory holidays.
