NOTICE OF ZONING BYLAW AMENDMENTBYLAW NO. 706.12, 2024

Council will consider the adoption of Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 706.12, 2024 at the September 23, 2024 regular council meeting. In accordance with new provincial housing legislation (Section 464(3) of the Local Government Act), the Village is prohibited from holding a public hearing on this bylaw.

Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 706.12, 2024 received first reading at the August 19, 2024 regular council meeting. This bylaw will create a Residential Zone – Comprehensive Development Zone CD.2.  Further the Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 706.12, 2024 will rezone the property being Lot 83, Plan VIP30672, District Lot 637, Nootka Land District, Except Plan 47881, & EXC PL VIP52845 VIP62535 & VIP62535 and outlined in red on the attached map from Fee Simple Half Duplex Residential (RM.1A) to Residential Zone – Comprehensive Development Zone (CD.2).

The outcome of the bylaw amendment is to increase the flexibility for residential development for the entire area of the property being rezoned.

A copy of “Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 706.12, 2024” is available for viewing on the Village of Gold River website at goldriver.ca or in person, Monday through Friday, except Statutory Holidays, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the Village Office, 499 Muchalat Drive, Gold River BC
