This meeting will be closed to the public pursuant to the Community Charter Section 90(1)(c) labour relations or other employee relations and Section 90(1)(k) negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a municipal service that are at their preliminary stages and that, in the view of the council, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality if they were held in public.

Effective at noon on Friday, September 25, 2020, all open fires will again be permitted throughout the Coastal Fire Centre’s jurisdiction. (Coastal Fire Centre Information Bulletin)
This rescinding of open burning prohibitions means that campfires will be permitted within the Coastal Fire Centre’s jurisdiction. However, the Village of Gold River’s Open Fire Regulation Bylaw No. 718, 2019 still applies within the Village. This means that no person shall start or maintain an open fire, or cause or allow an open fire to be started or maintained without first obtaining a permit from the Village of Gold River. To consider the proposed Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw No. 705.1, 2020 and the proposed Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 706.2, 2020.
The proposed bylaws will change the zoning for the property being Lot 1 plan VIP54732 District Lot 175 Land District 39 & DL 637. All persons who believe their interest in property may be affected by the proposed bylaws and wish to register an opinion may do so by:

On July 30 and 31, 2020, Alder Street will be closed between houses numbered from 410 to 360 (on the corner) to do sewer maintenance. Barricades will be set up starting around 8 am on Thursday. The barricades will be removed by the end of day on Thursday and we will have the street fully open overnight and we will close the road again Friday morning, if needed.
There will be no need to shut down any services, other than the road, but will be plugging off the sewer line that comes down from Cedar. Staff will be monitoring this to make sure no backups are experienced during this time.
